Celebrating 75 Years
On May 1, 1950, Western Business Machines opened its doors on the Canadian Prairies in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. From that day forward, a heritage of business enablement and trusted partnerships began.
From the first typewriter to the first office photocopier, from adding machines to personal computers, from cash registers to cloud-based modern workplace solutions, and from being an internet service provider to delivering SOC2 compliant cybersecurity operations, our journey has been one of constant evolution. Over the decades, our team has grown across Western Canada and beyond, always embracing change and driving transformative business results.
As we look back on 75 years of progress, one truth stands above all: our success has always been built on the incredible community of customers who have walked this path with us. Your trust and support have made every milestone possible.
Thank you for being part of our journey through the past that shaped us, the present we share, and the future we’ll create together.

WBM’s 2025 Community Impact Report reflects our 75 year history across Western Canada. Throughout this special edition report, one thing remains clear: since 1950, our journey has always been shaped by partnerships and the communities we work with.
Core to WBM’s values is a fundamental belief in bringing communities together. Connected, we can accomplish more, achieve greater things, and make meaningful impacts together. Our commitments are centered on the communities we serve, the clients we support, the employees who drive us forward, the partners we collaborate with, and the environment we share.
