Inspirational Journey for WBM President JoeAnne Hardy
JoeAnne Hardy writhed in pain after plummeting from the top of a rock-climbing wall and breaking her back. Neither Hardy nor the couple who rushed to help could know the journey they were about to take. “I have no recollection of falling,” said Hardy, 35. “I just remember hearing their voices and having an overwhelming urge to get up.”
“I am so grateful they were there.”
Hardy’s four-year journey with Saskatoon physiotherapists Karen and Bruce Craven began seconds after her near-fatal accident, grew through hundreds of hours of painful and often frustrating rehabilitation, and peaked earlier this month when the trio travelled to the Las Vegas International Half Marathon.
