Located on Vancouver Island, Mid Island Co-op has been in business since 1959. They currently serve more than 80,000 members that span from Cowichan Valley to Port Hardy.
When their IT Manager resigned, it highlighted the critical importance of strong leadership and clear accountability in IT management. In partnership with WBM Technologies, Mid Island Co-op transformed uncertainty into a resilient, secure, and scalable IT foundation that continues to fuel their ongoing growth and development throughout the Mid Vancouver Island Region.

The Problem
Mid Island Co-op’s growth outpaced their IT support. With 33 locations, critical retail systems, and tens of thousands of members depending on secure, reliable operations, IT plays a critical role in their operations. When their IT Manager resigned, it revealed a bigger issue: too much depended on one role, with limited visibility, governance, or scalability.
