Westport Fuel Systems & WBM Technologies: Enabling a Modern Workplace
Westport Fuel Systems is a global clean transportation technology leader serving customers in more than 70 countries. To support a growing, distributed workface and accelerate its ‘work from anywhere’ strategy, Westport partnered with WBM Technologies to drive adoption of Microsoft 365 and modern workplace tools. Through structural champions program and customized workshops delivered by WBM’s Technology Experience & Enablement team, Westport empowered internal leaders to drive meaningful change, improve confidence with digital tools and establish a scalable foundation for global collaboration across teams, regions and languages.

The Problem
As Westport Fuel Systems continued to scale globally, teams were operating across multiple Microsoft tenants and inconsistent collaboration tools, limiting productivity, visibility and adoption. Leaders needed a way to unify platforms, increase confidence in Microsoft 365, and support remote work, without overwhelming employees or disrupting day-to-day operations.
The Solution
WBM deployed a 12-week Microsoft 365 Champions Program, training a select group of internal leaders through six customized workshops. The program focused on Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint, OneNote and Planner, while consolidating users into a single tenant. This structured approach ensured knowledge transfer, measurable adoption, and long-term scalability for Westport’s modern workplace strategy.
It seems we now have a new platform for Town Halls and other similar events in our company. Having the right business partner can make all the difference contributing to these types of successes. So, thank you, WBM, for your partnership and commitment. I look forward to more collaboration and more innovative solutions throughout the year.

The Outcomes
Increased User Confidence with Microsoft 365
User confidence is critical to digital adoption. Following WBM-led workshops, Westport team leaders reported a 43% increase in comfort with Microsoft Teams, alongside significant gains in OneDrive (+40%), SharePoint (+30%), OneNote (+27%) and Planner/To Do (+151%). This measurable improvement demonstrated that targeted, role- based training directly translated into increased usability and daily engagement across Microsoft 365 tools.
Accelerated Digital Transformation & Remote Work Enablement
By consolidating more than 400 users into a single Microsoft tenant, over 95% of staff began operating on a shared, consistent platform. This transformation unlocked real-time usage insights, improved internal collaboration and laid the groundwork for Westport’s long-term “work from anywhere” strategy, ensuring employees could connect, collaborate and communicate seamlessly regardless of location.
Stronger Global Collaboration
Using Microsoft Teams Live Events, Westport successfully hosted its first global virtual town hall, connecting 253 participants across four continents with live translation in four languages. This milestone replaced a costly legacy platform and established Teams as a scalable, inclusive solution for global communications, bringing teams together regardless of geography or language barriers.
